My research associate internship in tissue engineering has given me the most cutting-edge theoretical and practical expertise in tissue engineering. With the help of the core courses, I have improved my critical appraisal of how and when to use various approaches and my capacity for independent, analytical thought, both of which are necessary for researching and creating novel solutions. Most significantly, the internship has broadened my practical knowledge and improved my preparation for a Ph.D. and a lab-based profession. Overall, this internship has given me the tools to pursue my research interests and further my academic career.
